Episode 022: A homemakerish guide to spring(ish) cleaning- Part 1

Podcast Ep 021 website image.png

It's that most wonderful time of the year for your house. It's time for spring cleaning. Time to break out the extra cleaning supplies, roll up your sleeves and get to work...or not.

I have a different approach to spring cleaning. It doesn't need to be done in the spring. In fact, it should get done multiple times a year to save you the arduous task of having to spend entire weekends scrubbing and wiping for hours on end.

In this two part episode, I'm going to break down how to go about your spring(ish) cleaning, whether you're getting down to it in early April or late October, or both.

WHAT YOU'LL HEAR TODAY:

  • Why spring cleaning shouldn't be a once-a-year endeavor
  • Why you should be planning before you clean one single thing in the house.
  • How to decide where you're going to start and what needs to be done.
  • The tools and supplies I recommend to make your spring cleaning session the most actionable it can be.

Episode 021: How we live with minimal paper

Podcast Ep 021 website image.png

Truth be told, I really hate paperwork. I love to organize it, but I hate having it clutter up my home and my life. My husband and I have an unspoken rule in our house that we will keep the papers to a minimal, but that can be really difficult for people who hold on to the notion that papers are more important than they actually are.

Today's episode is all about my journey to minimize the amount of paperwork we bring into and keep in our home. If our family of 4 (2 of whom own businesses) can do it, you can too, mama!

WHAT YOU'LL HEAR TODAY:

  • Why I really dislike papers of all kinds and minimize what comes into the house
  • How I utilize our command center to cut down on the amount of junk we need to file.
  • What our filing system looks like.
  • Ways we use digital filing to cut back on the papers in our house.
  • How much of our children's papers and artwork we save and why.

Episode 015: The power of momentum over motivation

Podcast Ep 015 website image.png

How often do you sit around waiting to be hit with a rush of motivation to do what you know you should do (but don't want to) only to realize that motivation just isn't coming? Motivation is a desire or willingness to do something, but what do you know about the 99% of tasks in your life you have no desire to do, but know you need to? That's where momentum comes in.

This is a topic I preach quite a bit to my students, because waiting for motivation to do something you don't want to do is a procrastination technique. In this episode, I'm getting real about why momentum is the real key to productivity and ending procrastination.

WHAT YOU'LL HEAR TODAY:

  • The real definition of motivation and why it doesn't work to get you to do the things you really need to do.
  • How I use momentum to make big changes and progress in my home and life.
  • My top four tips for creating more momentum in your life, even if you feel completely uninspired.
